A torn ledger page is tied to one bird's leg with library twine, and the ink keeps rewriting its destination as if the castle cannot decide where you are meant to be caught. Somewhere below, Filch is already walking with unusual confidence.

Two staircases have frozen nose to nose in a corridor that should never connect. Between them, a line of glowing ink hangs in the air like a sentence waiting for the floor to admit it belongs there. Draco says Hogwarts has older systems than teachers admit; Luna thinks the ledger is listening for intent, not action.

Ink seeps beneath a door that was not there an hour ago. The corridor smells of dust, hot metal, and old parchment, as though a forgotten room has exhaled against the stone. If the ledger is steering students instead of recording them, this unmarked door may be where it wants the next line written.
