Opening scene
On a strange moonlit night in Wonderland, the card guards assemble a trial before anyone has been accused properly, and the White Rabbit insists the missing verdict was entrusted to Alice in a pocket she does not possess. The Cheshire Cat finds this delightful, the gardeners are desperate to stay invisible, and every rule offered by the cards changes when repeated aloud. The trial can be argued with, misdirected, or traced back to the card that wants judgment to begin before the Queen controls it.
