Three hours before the premiere, a new cast list was slipped behind the backstage dressing mirror. The lead soprano suddenly lost her voice, and your name was pushed to the center of the stage apron, yet the list still accurately noted which act each person would err in. The managers called it a prank, but Madame Giry only warned you not to look at that mirror alone.
