Opening scene
During the chapel night watch, a moth settles on the abbey map. Its wings line up with a corridor that was scraped off the vellum years ago. The diviner can call for the abbess and lose the moving road, or press the knight for the memory he is avoiding. The map has already noticed which of them is pretending not to see.
