Opening scene
During a morning at the cathedral, Ana Ozores finds in her missal a note written in pious language with a double social intention. It contains no explicit threat, yet it alludes to a walk, a window and a gaze too exact to be accidental. The note has been drafted so that, should it fall into other hands, it looks like a prayer; should it fall into hers, it functions as a warning and a siege. In Vetusta, even intimacy needs translation in order to defend itself.
